Grrrr

Maybe it’s the whole bi-polar thing idk, but I’m just really fuckin angry today. I don’t think I have that much in my life to be this pissed off about, yet here I am. Wtf. I’m broken. Drinking is a mistake cuz it won’t make it any better. Oops. Whatever. It’s really hot in here. Ugh. I just feel so much rage right now and I hate everything, more so than usual. Oh well. I’ll just ride out a bad day I guess and hope it will be better tomorrow. I don’t think there is anything else I can really do. Now I apparently have to go pick up dinner later. Fun. I don’t really care if I eat but whatever. Paul better call me back. I need to go out. Unless he wants me driving after I’ve been drinking, I need a ride. Shitty. Well Mischief wants to play mousey so I guess I’m gunna go.

The Walking Dead

OMFG, Carol is gone. Rick, you’re mean. I get why Rick did what he did, but still. She was a big asset to the group and truly did care about everyone. She just went a little too far. Rick was just like, “See ya later Carol. I hope you don’t die. Here’s a car. Good luck. Bye.” But come on Rick, she’s been with you guys from the beginning. That should have been a decision for the council to make, not Rick alone. I guess in some way he was protecting her though. Like he said, Tyrese would probably kill her if he found out. I’m pretty sure we haven’t seen the last of her though. She’s resilient, like herpes. She’ll be back. If I were in her position I do have to say the thought of killing those 2 would have crossed my mind. I wouldn’t have been able to actually go through with it, but the thought would have still been there. Can you really say that someone cared about others TOO much? It’s not like she would have killed any of the kids or even the people she had been with the whole time. I’m almost sure of that. As for Rick, I don’t think he should have all the say, but I definitely think that he should be on the council. And what in the fuck is up with Carl? He’s a sociopath. I mean maybe he’s a victim of the times or something but holy shit. He shot a kid. He’s shot family and friends, granted they were walkers but come on. He showed no indifference what so ever when he did it. Maybe he shouldn’t have gotten his gun back. Maybe a knife would have been a bit more appropriate. But fuck Carl. For now anyways. At least until he does some other fucked up thing. Those guys better hurry up with those meds. Geez, to a certain extent it seems like they’re on a Sunday stroll. Get a move on people! I can’t wait to see what happens next. There’s always some totally unexpected crazy shit happening.

Call of Duty Ghosts

So I’ve been meaning to write for a few days now. I have a lot of shit to say, I’ll start with my review of Ghosts:

Starting off, you can definitely tell that it’s infinity ward. Not may favorite to begin with. I’m most certainly a treyarch girl. That being said, the setup is a lot like that of MW3, which I wasn’t a big fan of. I bought Ghosts on Tuesday. I started playing it and one of my first thoughts was, “I bet I can sell this for like 50 bucks”. I decided to give it a chance though. I’ve always found set ups and and customization of loadouts to be easier on Treyarch games. Treyarch also has better weapons, in my opinion anyways. I have to say I am a little disappointed as far as female characters go. They made it seem like you would be able to do a lot more customization to your characters than you actually can. I do have to say though that I am happy we finally get to play as women. With all the girls out there playing Call of Duty it’s about fuckin time. I also don’t like how you can’t create emblems. I think that being able to do so is a way to express yourself. Infinity Ward also loses my vote because they have no zombies. I guess that’s a good thing though because if they did I am sure they would fuck it up and it wouldn’t be anywhere near as good as the whole zombie back story that Treyarch has created. I’m not sure about Ghosts yet as I have no played much of the campaign, but I found the campaign on MW3 to be incredibly short compared to Black Ops and Black Ops2. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think so. I do find it pretty neat that you can have a dog along side you though and it is pretty life like. I can’t wait to play more of the campaign and see what other new things they have come up with. Overall, it’s not a bad game, but it is infinity ward. I guess if you are a fan of Infinity Ward than you would probably really enjoy it. Like I said, I am going to give it a chance and I am going to play the whole campaign. It did cost me $65 so I plan on getting my moneys worth. I will however be popping in Black Ops 2 frequently. Both for the zombie action, and multiplayer. I did the same with MW3. I played it occasionally, mostly when a friend would beg me to play with them, however Black Ops and Black Ops2 spent a lot more time in my xbox then MW3 did. I’m sure there is more I can add to this later, but so far this is my opinion. I’m hoping the campaign will be worth it. I can’t wait to check it out some more, when my boyfriend isn’t sleeping.

FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus)

Image

So I said I would write about FIV at some point. My household is annoying at the moment, so here it is. This is my cat, Spook. He has FIV and all around is a great cat. Healthy, cuddly, well behaved. FIV is kind of the equivalent to AIDS, only the feline version. It isn’t as bad as it sounds. AIDS is pretty much a death sentence for anyone who gets it. FIV isn’t quite as bad. Our previous vet told my mother that she should just have him put to sleep. That’s bullshit. She was heart broken and didn’t want that as an option so she researched it online. There have been many cats with FIV that have survived into their twenties! I’d say that’s pretty damn good. That’s a longer life span than most healthy cats. Spook got in a fight with something outside shortly before he was diagnosed (cats with FIV should remain indoors as not to infect others) He ended up with a drain in his head and had to wear a cone for like a week. Most cats can fight off colds and various sicknesses where as some FIV infected cats cannot. The only thing that’s really different with spook as opposed to our others is at the first sign of anything (sneezing and such) he needs to see a doctor. Other than that he’s just like the rest of them. So if there are any of you out there (the non-existent people that read my blog), don’t put your animal down if they’re diagnosed. To many vets this is the only option. I’m here to tell you that it’s not. Living with FIV hasn’t had a big impact on his day to day life. Another thing that many people don’t tell you is that it takes a DEEP bite to potentially affect another cat. Just playing around and rough housing is ok. Also, as long as you have a cat with FIV you shouldn’t bring any new ones into the house. I do however believe if you found a kitten with FIV as well that it would be alright. I would double check with a qualified non-asshole vet before hand though. I say kitten just because it is much easier for an older cat to accept a kitten and therefore lessens the chance that your new cat will get the shit kicked out of him upon arrival. All I can really tell you is that FIV doesn’t have to be a death sentence to your cat and you shouldn’t always listen to your vet. Putting an animal down is a big deal and you shouldn’t do it unless you really have to and it would be beneficial to your pet. If you find out that your cat has a disease before you make any rash decisions you should do some research on your own. Spook, although he lives up to his name (he gets scared and freaks out a lot. I think he was abused before he showed up at our door) is a great and very lovable cat. He loves to spend time with us and lay down in our beds. He’s very playful and often entertains himself with all the toys we have. He loves laying on the back of the couch when I’m sitting or laying there and gives lots of kisses. Onyx, one of our others, is his best friend and you can often find the two of them together. (Onyx also has some medical issues of his own that maybe I will write about another day. We actually think that the two of them might be biological brothers. They’re the same age and both showed up at our house. We don’t have a lot of strays in the area. I guess my big point here is please do some research before making any decisions that could impact, or kill, your animals. And here’s a brief summary on how Spook joined our family. I believe he was number 5 followed very shortly thereafter by Mischief. Anyways, our cats eat in the dinning room right in front of the sliding door that led out onto our porch. Our porch has since become a sun room that pretty much belongs to the animals. Anyways, my mom stopped home on Christmas Eve after work to feed the cats. While they were eating this beautiful black cat came up and was starring in at the others. My mom being my mom said later on, “How can you not feed a cat on Christmas Eve?” She started feeding him on a regular basis until one day he became part of the family. When he was first coming around he looked like an empty cat shell he was so thin. Now he is a butter ball. I think he’s really grateful to be here since he wants no part of outdoors. He got scared an accidentally ran outside 2 different times and started freaking out. Silly cat. But I’m glad we have him around and I stand by our decision to save his life 110% I have a couple links I would like to share. The first being another page from Cornell University College of Veterinarian Medicine. The second is a link to the medication T-Cyte that Madrox took for the FIP (which is manly used in the treatment of FIV) My vet decided to try is on Maddy seeing as FIP is also a disease that affects the immune system. So if your cat gets diagnosed with FIP talk to your vet about using T-Cyte. It won’t save their live but it will most likely extend it. Oh! I also found the article about Doctor Hurwit and his treatment of Maddy.

I missed Cat Day but I wanted to post a little something about FIP

My baby boy Madrox

My baby boy Madrox

This is something from Cornell University College of Veterinarian Medicine
I’ll post the link to the website at the bottom. A little brief about how this awful disease affected my peanut. He ended up with glaucoma and had to see an ophthalmologist 83 miles away and his vision got worse and worse. I’m pretty sure it was almost if not completely gone at the end. He had 3 different special eye drops he needed 2 times a day. He was getting shots of T-Cyte (link below) which is mainly used on cats with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which one of my others has. Luckily he doesn’t need meds. These shots were expensive, I think I figured they were around $50-$60 a piece. He received these a couple times a month. With the glaucoma the pressure in his eye was starting to build up. If it gets high enough it can cause pain and migraines. At one point I was discussing with the doctor about possibly having his eye removed. Many cats who have this FIP die shortly after being diagnosed. The T-Cyte injection he was getting along with other meds was pretty experimental. My vet is absolutely amazing. When other people were arguing that Maddy didn’t have the disease he insisted that he did. He truly cares about animals. We went for a second opinion, which also happened to be on the other side of the state, and it was confirmed. Now for those of you thinking that it was cruel to keep him around, let me explain. He was very happy despite his problems and in a way he understood we were doing it to help him. He watched me put drops in my eyes once and then let me do his no problem. He had a very quirky personality. Although certain things were a bit more difficult for him he managed. He couldn’t play as much anymore because of the eye sight (which eventually was affecting both eyes) But he played what he could. He was a little snuggle bug. I even have pictures of him laying on my face while I was asleep. You can actually see in the picture that his left eye had become sunken in a bit. I think that was a result of the meds we had been trying out to reduce pressure in his eye to save it from being removed. If not for that he would have lost the eye. He was published in two separate articles. I have to look on of them up. I have a hard copy somewhere. Also, a community paper did an article about my vet and Maddy. It’s a great article (link below) and I enjoyed working with the author to make it happen. Maddy ended up making a year and a half after diagnosis, which is incredible. Another great thing about his vet is that he comes to your house so you don’t have to pack up your animal in a carrier and bring them anywhere. His practice is called Less Stress for Your Pet and here is a link to his website:

http://lessstressforyourpet.com/

I would like to thank him, Eric Hurwit D.M.V. from the bottom of my heart for giving me more time with Maddy and for taking such good care of him. Eric treats all his patients like they were his own. Because of him we had one more Christmas with Maddy. And trust me, we made the most of it! I could go on and on because there was so much involved, but I think you get the gist of it. I also would like to post something about FIV which is pretty much kittie aids. Check back for it soon!

ALSO: If your cat should unfortunately be diagnosed with FIP, bring to your vets attention the successful use of the T-Cyte injection. Print out the article at the bottom and share it with your vet.

What is FIP?
Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of a virus called the feline coronavirus. Most strains of feline coronavirus are avirulent, which means that they do not cause disease, and are referred to as feline enteric coronavirus. Cats infected with a feline coronavirus generally do not show any symptoms during the initial viral infection, and an immune response occurs with the development of antiviral antibodies. In a small percent of infected cats (5 to 10 percent), either by a mutation of the virus or by an aberration of the immune response, the infection progresses into clinical FIP. The virus is then referred to as feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV). With the assistance of the antibodies that are supposed to protect the cat, white blood cells are infected with virus, and these cells then transport the virus throughout the cat’s body. An intense inflammatory reaction occurs around vessels in the tissues where these infected cells locate, often in the abdomen, kidney, or brain. It is this interaction between the body’s own immune system and the virus that is responsible for the disease. Once a cat develops clinical FIP involving one or many systems of the cat’s body, the disease is progressive and is almost always fatal. The way clinical FIP develops as an immune-mediated disease is unique, unlike any other viral disease of animals or humans.

Procrastinating

“Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday.”  ~Don Marquis

So my closet looks like it threw up all over the house and instead of cleaning it up I decided to get on the computer to avoid doing it! So I guess today is going to be a bit of rambling and a few things that are currently pissing me off. Right now I’m listening to some music, as usual. A few of the songs I really like are the ones from Zombies on Call of Duty sung by Elena Siegman. (Yeah, I know, I’m kind of dorky like that) Anyways, you know you need a job when all the things you watch on tv are reruns and you can in fact quote some of them. Ugh God, I really should be cleaning. I’m annoyed with myself today along with many others. I have a sore throat and I’d like to give a shout out to the stupid bitch that coughed all over me at the store yesterday. Thanks! I’m also annoyed with the fact that so many employers drug test. I mean, I completely agree that one should not be fucked up while on the job. However, there are 16 hours in the day that don’t involve me being a slave (that earns barely enough to live on) If I want to come home from a long annoying day I should be able to smoke a bowl or snort some kind of powder. (not that I make a habit out of recreational drugs, I’m just saying.) I know that I am not the only person in the world that feels this way. If one of your employees wants to get a little fucked up at home then why do you care? You can get high at home when you’re off the clock and be completely competent and sober for your next shift. It’s just a little pet peeve that bothers me. I’m not saying it’s ok to be a hardcore drug addict or anything either. We, as American citizens are supposed to have rights. Where have they gone? Every day more and more is taken away from us. The Constitution was written for a reason people. Wake up! Take a look around and see how much we’re getting fucked (and NOT in the good way) Since it is supposed to be “By the people, for the people”, I think we all have the right to speak out and stand up for ourselves and what we believe in.

Holy shit it’s been a while!

So it’s been a long time since I had a blog. I figured what the hell, lets do it. I journal all the time and love to write anyway so why not. I don’t plan on writing about any one subject in particular. I want to write about the things and people that piss me off during the course of the day. I want to share things I do. Awesome baking recipes, cool little things you can make at home, crap like that. Maybe write about movies, or introduce people to amazing bands they might otherwise never hear about. Or video games that I play. Random nerdy things that make me happy. I might write about how the players on my fantasy football team have been letting me down lately. But most importantly, I want to write about things that matter. Things that I feel the world needs to know. Things that maybe other people are afraid to talk about for whatever reason. I’m honest, sometimes opinionated (so you don’t have to agree with everything I say), and I don’t sugar coat anything. So yeah, this is me.
